Back to the basics: what is a vapor retarder

Design pros have a mind-boggling number of options when choosing which products can best ensure that a structure is long-lasting, energy efficient and watertight. To help narrow the choices, sometimes it’s a good idea to go back to the basics and remember what the system was designed to accomplish.

“Introduction To Wall Vapor Retarders” will help you brush up on basic vapor retarder jobs, material types and common products. The online, self-paced course covers moisture problems that can occur in wall assemblies, explains vapor retarder classifications, and describes “smart” vapor retarders.
